Spatially uneven pace of deindustrialisation within a country

چکیده
The declining share of manufacturing value-added, often referred to as ‘deindustrialisation’, is fast becoming a major concern for policymakers and academic researchers, especially in high-income countries. When compared with country-level analysis, however, regional-level analyses deindustrialisation within country are limited. This paper empirically examines how why the patterns uneven across regions country. analysis builds upon neoclassical trade model uses data Japan where both detailed output input available at regional industry levels non-manufacturing industries over last four decades. One findings that large variation attributable differences productivity price changes regions. In contrast, effect slowdown capital accumulation, partly from expansion foreign direct investment or offshoring, commonly appears not specific but spatial interdependence also only statistically significant nonnegligible terms its magnitude.

The Manipulation of Pace within Endurance Sport
In any athletic event, the ability to appropriately distribute energy is essential to prevent premature fatigue prior to the completion of the event. In sport science literature this is termed "pacing." Within the past decade, research aiming to better understand the underlying mechanisms influencing the selection of an athlete's pacing during exercise has dramatically increased. It is suggeste...

A spatially adaptive retinex variational model for the uneven intensity correction of remote sensing images
In this paper, a spatially adaptive retinex variational model for the uneven intensity correction of remote sensing images is proposed. In the model, the spatial information is used to constrain the TV regularization strength of the reflectance. In the edge pixels, a weak regularization strength is enforced to preserve detail, and in the homogeneous areas, a strong regularization strength is en...
متن کاملSpatially resolved multidimensional NMR spectroscopy within a single scan.
We have recently demonstrated that the spatial encoding of internal nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spin interactions can be exploited to collect multidimensional NMR spectra within a single scan. Such experiments rely on an inhomogeneous spatial excitation of the spins throughout the sample, and lead to indirect-domain peaks via a constructive interference among the spatially resolved spin-pa...
